The weather instruments at the top of this page update every 60 seconds.
The 'Weather Underground' information from our weather center updates every 15 minutes.
This system measures the following:
Barometric Pressure - Current and for each of the last 24 hours. It includes trend information, such as rising, falling or steady.
Temperature - Current and for each of the last 24 hours.
Humidity - Current and for each of the last 24 hours.
Precipitation - Precipitation for the last 15 minutes and the last 24 hours, days, months and years.
Precipitation Rate - Current and for each of the last 24 minutes.
Storm Precipitation - Precipitation for the last 24 events, with beginning and ending dates for each event.
Wind Speed - Current wind speed. Average for the last 10 minutes and each of the last 24 hours.
Wind Direction - Current and for the last 24 hours, days and months. Direction of high wind speed.
Wind Chill - Current wind chill.
Dew Point - Current and for each of the last 24 hours.
Heat Index - Current and for each of the last 24 hours.
Sunrise & Sunset - Time of sunrise and sunset at zipcode 89014. It even takes daylight saving time into account.
Highs & Lows - For most weather variables, with time and/or date, for each of the last 24 hours, days, months and years.
Moon Phase - Current.
Solar Radiation - Measures current solar radiation and solar energy. Expressed in Watts/sq. meter (W/m2).
UV Radiation - Measures current sunburning portion of the UV spectrum. Expressed in MEDs (Minimum Erythemal Dose) and UV Index.
Other important information:
24-Hour Fan-Aspirated Radiation Shield - for maximum accuracy of temperature and humidity readings. A motor-driven fan draws air through the sensor chamber 24/7. The air flow across the sensors during the day is 500 feet per minute (2.5 m/s). At night, when the effects of radiation are less, the solar-powered unit runs on battery power and the air flow is 280 feet per minute (1.4 m/s).
Environmentally Friendly - The entire outdoor weather sensing unit is solar-powered with a battery back-up. The battery is solar recharged.
GLOBE Program compatible - This unit conforms to the specifications of The GLOBE Program. See www.globe.gov NIST Certifiable - In the USA, the National Institute of Standards & Technology develops and maintains the standards of measurement to which all others are ultimately traced. NIST-traceable intermediate service providers are the next link in a network that joins together the makers and users of precision instruments.
